"The European Union should force Armenia to withdraw from the occupied territories," Latvian MP, member of the permanent delegation of Latvia to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Romāns Naudiņš said.
The parlamentarian noted: "If Armenia does not adhere to the UN Security Council resolutions, then, politicians should be prohibited to enter some countries, they should be deprived of the the right to vote at some international organizations. I think that if world countries would have used the tools mentioned, this confrontation would not have happened."
Romāns Naudiņš said that throughout 30 years, the EU and the leading countries of the world have done a little work to force Armenia to withdraw from the occupied territories and comply with international law: "I wish peace to be restored and the Azerbaijani, Armenian and Georgian people to live peacefully like Baltic countries. I know that it is possible and I am confident that it will happen, as such examples exist in history. Till the end of the 1980s, there was no problem in Nagorno-Karabakh where the Azerbaijanis and the Armenians lived together: they lived in peaceful and friendly conditions.
In this issue, not only Armenia and Azerbaijan, but also international organizations and politicians should take responsibility, because the blood is shed not only on the battlefield, but also in civil cities.
I reiterate once again: to prevent such confrontations, we should behave strictly towards the states not adhering to international law."
